I can’t see me using any others now, the tone is so rich and deep. Re. the E string. I find plain E’s to be harsh and prone to whistling, and have used a Eudoxa wound E for the last couple of years. I like the mellow but powerful tone it gives. So, IMHO, Evah’s every time. Costly, but worth it.
